We started from humble beginnings... Richard (Dick) Golda, Sr. co-founded Shelving Inc., a Detroit Michigan based business in the late 1950’s. In the early 1970’s, Dick moved his growing family and his business to Orlando Florida and founded Warehousing Equipment Company out of a spare bedroom in his home in suburban Orlando. Shortly after the inception of the company, he was contacted by a new “business venture” entering the Orlando market… the Walt Disney World (WDW) Company! Warehousing Equipment Co. grew quickly and went on to furnish virtually every piece of material handling and storage equipment (including every Employee locker) used at the WDW parks and resorts for decades.
At an early age, Richard Golda Jr. joined the business washing cars and sweeping the floors at his Father’s growing business. As he got older, his responsibilities within the company changed as well. During summers and weekends, he served as a member of the company’s installation crew… performing equipment installations at area locations like Sea World, Universal Studios, The John F. Kennedy Space Center (including the installation of a large Wire Partition around the original Space Shuttle), the new Orlando International Airport and of course the company’s number one customer, The Walt Disney World Company. The unique Florida marketplace exposed Richard to a wide range of unique and diverse material handling and storage related projects and applications. In 1990, Dick Golda sold the business and retired. A few years later, after graduating from college and taking a job in the industrial equipment field in suburban Columbus, Ohio, Richard Golda Jr. founded Midwest Material Handling, LLC (in 1995). We look forward to celebrating our 25th consecutive year in business in 2020!
As a result of consistent growth, the business expanded into a company owned facility located in Plain City Ohio which it occupies to this day. Its central location serves customers around the state of Ohio (and throughout the United States!). Midwest Material Handling, LLC has grown into one of the region’s largest independently owned stocking new and used industrial equipment distributors.
The experience of our sales and service team allow us to better understand the difficulties and challenges faced in today′s unique warehouse environments. Our entire staff of professionals are factory trained, certified and fully bonded/insured. Additionally, we adhere to the standards set forth by the leading Material Handling Equipment associations like MHEDA (Material Handling Equipment Distributors Association), MHIA (Material Handling Industry of America) and RMI (Rack Manufacturers Institute).
The design, sale and implementation of material handling and storage systems is our primary focus. Also, we carry a large inventory of equipment in-stock designed to minimize lead times and decrease freight costs.
